Website privacy

When visitor alerts are enabled, we send the store owner a notification through Pushover with the page visited and an approximate city, region, or country derived from the network connection. When the host does not provide city and state, we send the connection IP address to IPWhois (ipwhois.io) for an approximate lookup before sending an alert. We do not save that raw IP address in our database. Location estimates can be wrong or unavailable, particularly with mobile networks, VPNs, and privacy relays. We do not request GPS location or include your raw IP address in these notifications.

We use a short-lived, keyed identifier derived from your IP address to reduce repeat alerts. These identifiers expire after 30 minutes and are cleaned up when later qualifying visits arrive. We also store a visit timestamp in your browser’s session storage. People sharing a network may be counted as one visit. We do not use this feature to identify you by name.

Our hosting provider processes connection information to serve and protect the website. Pushover processes notification contents to deliver them to the store owner; see Pushover’s privacy policy. Notification copies can remain in the owner’s app.

Website analytics

Our private store dashboard records page views, clicks on call and text links, approximate locations when available, and broad traffic-source categories. We keep up to 90 days of activity, removing older records as new activity arrives. We use a random identifier stored in session storage to group activity in a browser tab; a new session begins after 30 minutes of inactivity. No raw IP address, full referring URL, URL query parameters, phone number, or message contents are saved in our analytics database. Only recognized campaign source labels are retained. Clicks do not tell us whether a conversation or purchase took place.
